Movie Minute: The Writer's Strike and some Quick Rates

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Life getting in the way of blogging, who knew???

I wanted to comment on the writer's strike and say I'm in full support. Partly because I believe in the cause (greedy corporate blood suckers, give them the money!!!) and partly because I am in platonic love with Tina Fey. (I am currently obsessed with 30 Rock...OH that's what I did for a week...caught up on eps hehe).

I love Jenni 4 Ever signed Tina Fey

Having said that, please please please try to resolve this so we can have our delicious TV back!:)

So movies...

Lions for Lambs - 4/5 - Great Writing, Decent Acting, Powerful Statement

Gabriel - 2/5 - Really wanted to like this Aussie actioner. Director/Writer/Producer Shane Abess has a future and this was a noble first attempt. The 2 stars are mainly for that!

The Devil Wears Prada (DVD) - 4/5 - Cold reality in a pretty setting. Anne Hathaway is captivating and Meryl is appropriately scary.

What a Girl Wants (DVD) - 3/5- Nothing new here but packed full of charm and heart. Can't fault Amanda Bynes. Definitely for the teens, but a guilty pleasure for those of you with a romantic flare.

Ok that will have to do for now. It's 3 freakin' AM. Bloodsuckers!

Movie Minute: A sudden urge to watch Terminator 2...

Ok so guess what? I just did probably the coolest interview ever with voice over master Don LaFontaine! I was grabbing some audio to add to it and went for one of his faves, T2. Now I'm going to have to watch it! I still haven't figured out how to get a podcast up here so I'll probably make a vlog instead. Don was really lovely and it was so amazing to chat to him.

Apologies for not posting the Halloween stuff either. It's also audio.

For now, take a look at this video of comedian Pablo Francisco taking off the movie trailer legend.

Or try this one...a parody of the Hollywood voice over guys, starring themselves! It's 5 of them in a limo, Don gets picked up first. Gold!

PS The Game Plan was one of the best movies I've seen in ages! It was Disney gold but definitely above average! A+++1

Since I never posted my top 5 Halloween movies from radio, here they are: Halloween (classic), Shaun of the Dead (Funny), It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (nostailgic), The Shining (Terrifying) and Candyman (scariest). I would have added the original Dawn of the Dead instead of Halloween, but it was for the radio! Also, the kids one was more for the radio, even though I did watch it every year. I love Gremlins, but usually include that in my top Christmas movies :)

Movie Minute

Wolverine struggled with human contact until his love of the beach took over

Hey everyone. How crap am I at updating? Pretty crap.

I didn't get to see Rush Hour 3...prob was just as good as 1 & 2 which for some of you isn't saying much.

I'm seeing The Kingdom tonight (finally) and maybe Seeker on the weekend.

I discovered that Hugh Jackman is still in Oz after wrapping up filming of the epic Australia. He's going straight to working on Wolverine, the X-Men spin-off. Filming starts next month. Yep, he's ripped!

This item popped up on news.com.au about the theft of computers etc associated with the filming of Indy 4. Why didn't Harrison just break out the whip? I'm sure he can find that crap...where the heck is Short Round when you need him?

My fave news of the week though was how Nicholas Cage caught a burglar in his house late at night that was wearing one of his jackets...and that's all! The nude burglar was asked to remove the jacket and was then escorted out by Cage who was probably trying to decide whether to laugh or beat his ass.

I hope he beat him...just a little...and that the video pops up on youtube...

Til next time! See you in the dark
