Paging Mr. Wolverine...Mr. Wolverine...

Australian news site news.com.au posted THIS article on the new X-Men Spinoff Movie, Wolverine. It'll be interesting to see what story line from the comic, if any, this scene might tie in with. The man called Logan's origins have always been a bit sketchy, but we know he was definitely Wolvie way before the 70's as he was born before 1900. THE streets of Glebe, in Sydney's inner west, were transformed into a carnival for the filming of Hugh Jackman's Hollywood blockbuster, X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

During the one-night shoot on Friday, Jackman and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, were seen laughing and chatting with extras and crew as they inspected the purpose-built set.

The scenes, shot at Glebe's Federal Park, appeared to be a flashback sequence with extras wearing flares, Afros and long sideburns as they rode the Ferris wheel.

Dressed casually but sporting the Wolverine mutton-chops and beard, Jackman disappointed bystanders by not getting his metal claws out.

There was also no sign of his co-stars Ryan Reynolds, the Black Eyed Peas' Will.I.Am and Naomi Watt's partner, Liev Schreiber.

Last night, Jackman hosted a private party for the film's cast and crew in Sydney.

Wolverine is the first spin-off from the X-Men series. Scenes have already been shot in New Zealand, and filming will continue in New Orleans.

More than 1200 extras are expected to take part in filming around Sydney, with 45 actors and 350 crew.

Jackman's production company, Seed, has paired with 20th Century Fox to make the movie, which will explore Wolverine's early days and is due to hit movie screens mid next year.
