How to Lose Money and Alienate Your Audience

You like the title? It doesn't reflect how I feel about this movie at all, I was just trying to be clever. *Japanese Schoolgirl Laugh*

I finally passed it!

How to Lose Friends and Alienate People stars Simon Pegg, Kirsten Dunst and Megan Fox. It’s based on memoirs of a real guy who went from making an independent magazine in the UK to working for one of the biggest (read: evil) magazines in New York.

No I'm serious, 11 Inches, wanna see?

While Pegg is charming as Sidney Young, the film takes no risks whatsoever unless you count some full frontal male nudity which we were desensitised to earlier in the year thanks to Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Megan Fox shines as she pokes fun at coked-out silly starlets and the importance we put on them as a society.

The film was entertaining, cute and had some funny bits but it’s absolutely nothing new. File under "standard rom-com".

I give HOW TO LOSE FRIENDS AND ALIENATE PEOPLE 3 out of 5 stars.

I just finished reading the book, and cant believe how much they screwed with the story for the sake of the film.

Give it a read - it's a really well written book.

I thought that was the case. I could see they made it quite Hollywood. Very glossy. Love Simon Pegg but it needed much more. I'll add the book to my list, and thanks for suggesting it. :)
